Results of QC

A total of 27 profiles (978 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the NORTHWEST SANDPIPER.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 978

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 27

    Invalid position: 0 of 27

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 978

Error data (high): 0 of 978

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 978

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • QC detected no unnatural profiles.
  • There were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation at a depth between 50 and 200 m in the seas around 10°N and at a depth between 100 and 200 m in the seas around 4°N. The observation data showed sharper thermocline than the assimilation data.
