Monthly Highlights
Monthly mean temperatures were significantly above normal in eastern Japan because the region was overlaid with warm air. Monthly precipitation amounts were below normal from northern to western Japan and monthly sunshine durations were above normal all over Japan except on the Pacific side of eastern Japan as the regions were frequently covered with high pressure systems.
