Monthly Highlights
Monthly mean temperatures were significantly above normal in eastern Japan. Monthly precipitation amounts for the most part of Japan were above normal due to the much inflow of moist air over the regions. In addition, two typhoons (FRANCISCO (T1908) and KROSA (T1910)) also contributed to the above normal precipitation amounts. Monthly sunshine durations were below normal in western Japan and Okinawa/Amami.
