Monthly Highlights
- Monthly mean temperatures were significantly above normal from northern Japan to western Japan, with the highest on record for March since 1946 in northern Japan, because winter monsoon patterns appeared much less than normal.
- Monthly precipitation amounts were significantly above normal on the Pacific side of northern Japan. Monthly sunshine durations were above normal over the mainland frequently covered with high pressure systems.
