On September 1 2020, JMA began using Seafloor observation network for earthquakes and tsunamis along the Japan Trench (known as the S-net) and Dence Oceanfloor Network system for Earthquakes and Tsunamis (known as the DONET2) in its hypocenter calculation (see the user's guide for details).
