Results of QC

A total of 49 profiles (1664 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the PACIFIC TRIANGLE.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 1664

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 49

    Invalid position: 0 of 49

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 1664

Error data (high): 0 of 1664

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 1664

For datails of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • No errors were detected with JMA's quality control procedures.
  • There were differences above 2°C between the results of assimilation and the observations at around 13°N and 18°N.
  • There was cold bias in comparison with the results of assimilation by JMA in the seas south of 6°N around Indonesian Maritime Continent. It's to be noted that the results of assimilation is considered to be less accurate in the marginal seas.
