A total of 58 profiles (1939 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the NORTHEWEST SANDERLING.

Summary of QC

QC detected some unnatural profiles shown in 'Results of QC'.
There were large differences at depths of between 40 and 300 m in areas south of 11°N. The observation data showed sharper thermocline better than the assimilation data.
Among the data that passed JMA's automated quality control procedures, some "hitting bottom" data were found in the seas around 6°N (Refer to concerned figures). The topography used for our grounded test was too rough to catch the error.
