Results of QC

A total of 17 profiles (552 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the NORTHWEST SANDPIPER.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 552

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 17

    Invalid position: 0 of 17

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 552

Error data (high): 0 of 552

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 552

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • QC detected no unnatural profiles.
  • There were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation at depths of between 100 and 180 m in the seas around 5°N and at depths of between 180 and 240 m in the seas around 11°N. The observation data showed sharper thermocline than the assimilation data.
