India Meteorological department prepare the Long-Range forecast based on both Climate Model and Statistical (empirical) method. Coupled Ocean General Circulation Model, Monsoon Mission Climate Forecast System (MMCFS) used for preparation of forecast. Since 2021 IMD adopted Multi-Model Ensemble (MME) for monthly and seasonal forecast for rainfall and Temperature.
