Methods taken by NMHS to generate long-range forecast products
KMA produces long-range forecasts based on results of dynamical climate prediction model, GloSea6, and additional information, such as forecasts from other NMHSs and expert discussion.
Use of climate products provided by other NMHSs or meteorological institutes for long-range forecast
14 GPCs' products from WMO Lead Centre for Multi-Model Ensemble (MME) Long-Range Forecast (LRF) and additional MME products from APEC Climate Center (APCC)
III. Climate Monitoring
Regular climate monitoring reports
Monitoring of climate extremes (including drought monitoring and climate watch)
Provision of climate data through the website with limited/unlimited access
Some climate data are accessible to registered users under password protection free of charge.
Unlimited access is allowed for log-in member. Large data(e.g. Remote sensing, numerical model) is transferred through FTP server. FTP access key which is available in limited period will be allocated to each member based on log-in information.
