Monthly Highlights

- Monthly mean temperatures were significantly above normal in eastern Japan because winter monsoon and cold-air inflow were weaker than normal.
- In Okinawa/Amami, monthly precipitation amounts were significantly below normal and monthly sunshine durations were significantly above normal because the region was frequently covered with high pressure systems.
