Seasonal Highlights
- Seasonal temperatures were significantly above normal in eastern Japan and Okinawa/Amami and above normal in western and northern Japan bacause these regions tended to be covered by warm air. Seasonal precipitation amounts were significantly above normal in eastern and western Japan and Okinawa/Amami due to the stagnation of the active Meiyu-Baiu front and moist southerly air inflow. Seasonal sunshine durations were below normal on the Sea of Japan side of eastern Japan and Okinawa/Amami.
