Climate Report over Japan

<< prev      next >>

Monthly Highlights

In Okinawa/Amami, monthly mean temperature was the highest on record for August since 1946, as well as monthly sunshine durations were significantly above normal, since the Pacific High extended to the south of Japan.Monthly sunshine durations were significantly below normal on the Pacific side of northern and eastern Japan, because the Okhotsk High appeared and brought rainy and cloudy weather with cool and wet northeasterly airflow during the period from early to mid-August.
