Monthly Highlights
- In Okinawa/Amami, monthly precipitation amounts were significantly above normal and monthly sunshine durations were significantly below normal due to a persistent influence of the Baiu-front.
- High pressure systems covered the mainland of Japan frequently and brought sunny days there. Monthly sunshine durations were the highest record for June since 1946 on the Pacific side of northern Japan and the Sea of Japan side of northern Japan.
- Monthly mean temperatures were above normal nationwide, especially that in northern Japan were significantly above normal due to warm air advection mainly in early June and higher sunshine duration.
