Results of QC

A total of 90 profiles (76044 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the HORIZON ENTERPRISE.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 76044

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 90

    Invalid position: 0 of 90

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 76044

Error data (high): 0 of 76044

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 6 of 76044

For datails of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • Some erroneous profiles are detected by JMA's automated quality control procedures. These are checked by the gradient test.
  • There was no significant bias in comparison with the results of assimilation by JMA.
  • There were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation at depths of between 100 and 200m.
