A total of 128 profiles (104439 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the MELL SPRINGWOOD.

Summary of QC

Some erroneous profiles are detected by JMA's automated quality control procedures. These are checked by the grounded test, regional range test and the gradient test.
There are large differences at a depth of shallower than 400 m in the seas east of 122°E.
With the exception of the above errors, there was no significant bias in comparison with the results of assimilation by JMA.
