Results of QC

A total of 74 profiles (1703 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the RYOFU MARU III.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 1703

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 74

    Invalid position: 0 of 74

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 1703

Error data (high): 0 of 1703

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 1703

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • No errors were detected with JMA's quality control procedures.
  • There were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation at a depth of between 50 and 250m in the seas between 5°N and 12°N.
  • There were large differences between observation data and the results of assimilation in areas near the Kuroshio front (around 33°N).
  • There was no significant bias in comparison with the results of assimilation by JMA.
