Results of QC

A total of 20 profiles (457 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the RYOFU MARU III.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 457

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 20

    Invalid position: 0 of 20

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 457

Error data (high): 0 of 457

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 457

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • QC detected no unnatural profiles.
  • There were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation at around 34°N. The observation data shows sharper thermocline better than the assimilation data.
