Results of QC

A total of 185 profiles (154378 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the UNDARUM.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 154378

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 185

    Invalid position: 0 of 185

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 154378

Error data (high): 0 of 154378

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 43 of 154378

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • QC detected some unnatural profiles shown in 'Results of QC'.
  • There were large differences at depths of between 150 and 250 m in the seas around 175°E. The observation data showed sharper thermocline than the assimilation data.
