Results of QC

A total of 15 profiles (484 data, reported by BATHY or TESAC) were received from the NORTHWEST SANDPIPER.
The results of JMA quality control are as follows.
  • Grounded test
  • Error data: 0 of 484

  • Position on land test
  • On land: 0 of 15

    Invalid position: 0 of 15

  • Regional range test
  • Error data (low): 0 of 484

Error data (high): 0 of 484

  • Gradient test
  • Error data: 0 of 484

For details of JMA's quality control procedures, please refer to this page.

Summary of QC

  • QC detected no unnatural profiles.
  • At depths of between 40 and 160 m in the seas around 20°N, there were differences above 2°C between observation data and the results of assimilation. The observation data showed deeper mixed layer and sharper thermocline than the assimilation data.
