Climate Report over Japan
Monthly Highlights
- Monthly mean temperatures were below normal almost all over the country, especially in western Japan and Okinawa/Amami, because of cold air inflow into the country.
- Monthly precipitation amounts were significantly below normal in Okinawa/Amami. Monthly sunshine durations were significantly above normal in western Japan and in the Pacific side of eastern Japan, because these regions were repeatedly under the influence of high pressure systems.
