NEAR-GOOS Cross-Basin Climate Monitoring Section
The NEAR-GOOS Cross-basin Climate Monitoring Section has been jointly conducted by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and the Pacific Oceanological Institute (POI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2011, in order to improve the understanding of the response of the regional seas of the NEAR-GOOS region to climate change. The project was approved as a pilot project of the North-East Asian Regional GOOS (NEAR-GOOS) at the 14th session of the NEAR-GOOS Coordinating Committee in September 2011.
