Climate Report over Japan
Monthly Highlights
Monthly precipitation amounts were below normal and monthly sunshine durations were above normal over the most part from northern to western Japan, because the regions were frequently covered with high pressure systems. Monthly mean temperatures were above normal from eastern to western Japan and in Okinawa/Amami because these regions tended to be covered with warm air. In Okinawa/Amami, cloudy and rainy days were dominant due to fronts and moist air in the second half of the month.
