Climate Report over Japan
Monthly Highlights
The Baiu Front tended to be stayed over the seas south of the mainland of Japan. In Okinawa/Amami, monthly precipitation amounts were significantly above normal, and monthly sunshine durations were significantly below normal due to strong influence of the front. In contrast, monthly precipitation amounts were below normal in western Japan, and monthly sunshine durations were above normal in eastern and western Japan due to weak influence of the front. Monthly mean temperatures were above normal in northern Japan due to warm-air inflow over the region in early June.
