Highlight

  • Monthly mean temperatures were extremely high from southern Eastern Siberia to southern Central Asia via East Asia, in central Southeast Asia, from the northwestern Middle East to northern Europe via northwestern Northern Africa, in and around the eastern USA and in and around Colombia.
  • Monthly precipitation amounts were extremely high from eastern Europe to northern Algeria, from the State of Texas, USA to central Mexico, in northern Argentina and in southeastern Australia.
  • Monthly precipitation amounts were extremely low in and around the eastern USA.

  • The monthly mean temperature in Japan was the highest on record for July since 1898 (Japan Meteorological Agency).
  • 41.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kaibara, Hyogo on 30 July, which is a new national maximum temperature record in Japan as of July 2025 (Japan Meteorological Agency).
  • The monthly mean temperature in Korea was the second highest on record for July since 1973 (Korea Meteorological Administration).
  • The monthly mean temperature in China was the highest on record for July since 1961 (China Meteorological Administration).

  • It was reported that heavy rains caused at least 110 fatalities in China (European Commission, EM-DAT).
3TyphoonFrom China to Myanmar
  • It was reported that Typhoon "WIPHA", "FRANCISCO" and "CO-MAY" caused a total of at least 70 fatalities in China, the Philippines, Viet Nam and Myanmar (European Commission, EM-DAT).

  • It was reported that severe weathers caused at least 30 fatalities in northeastern Viet Nam (European Commission).

  • It was reported that heavy rains caused a total of at least 430 fatalities in Nepal, India and Pakistan (European Commission, EM-DAT, the government of Nepal and the government of Pakistan).
7WarmFrom the northwestern Middle East to northern Europe via northwestern Northern Africa
  • In southeastern Turkey 50.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Silopi on 25 July, which is a new national maximum temperature record in Turkey (Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Turkey).
  • The monthly mean temperature in Norway was the third highest on record for July since 1901 (Norwegian Meteorological Institute).

  • It was reported that heavy rains caused at least 30 fatalities in Nigeria (European Commission, EM-DAT).

  • It was reported that heavy rains caused at least 130 fatalities in the state of Texas, USA (European Commission, EM-DAT).
