Extreme climate events and weather-related disasters during this period

Extreme Climate Event

Highlight

  • Monthly mean temperatures were extremely high from central Europe to the northwestern Middle East, from northwestern to central Canada, from southeastern Canada to central Mexico, and in and around northern Argentina.
  • Monthly mean temperatures were extremely low from the central part of Central Siberia to the southwestern part of Eastern Siberia, from the southern part of Central Asia to the northwestern part of South Asia, and from the Australian side of Antarctica to the South Pole.
  • Monthly precipitation amounts were extremely high from the southern part of Central Siberia to the southeastern part of Western Siberia, in central Saudi Arabia, from northeastern to central Europe, from southern Norway to northern Germany, in the northern and eastern USA, and in northern Colombia.
  • Monthly precipitation amounts were extremely low from southwestern Russia to the northwestern Middle East.
